Ray-tracing and image synthesis

Context
This project was developed as part of the Computer Graphics and Image Synthesis module during our software engineering curriculum at ENSSAT (advanced national college of applied science and technology). The objective was to understand the mathematical foundations of optical rendering and implement a raytracer from scratch in Java.
Core Features
- Ray Intersection Mathematics: Custom mathematical solvers for ray-sphere, ray-plane, and ray-polygon intersections using vector algebra and dot/cross product calculations.
- Phong Illumination Model: Accurate lighting computations combining ambient light, diffuse Lambertian reflection, and specular highlights.
